Thought and work
This semester I developed the lizard character that was used in the game called animal warfare. I felt like during the semester I could have done more to help the team but I did not know what to work on. I would do my character model and then I have nothing to do. I felt like I could have helped the team become more successful.
Challenges, roles, things created and Portfolio
The challenges I had to face were:
· The creation of the lizard character because I had to start over plenty of times because the character did not look right. The leg measurements were off and the poly count was too high, so I could not move or rotate any body part I wanted to.
· Trying to make to make the spider enemies was a headache because the head and body were not the same size and attaching the two parts was a headache also.
How I overcame the challenges:
· For the lizard challenge, I asked a friend to help me with the lizard by them giving me suggestions about the creation of the head and legs and how to adjust the body parts so it looks normal and other things.
The hardest part about making the lizard was trying to make it stand up on two legs. Before I had him laying down on his stomach so I had to change him and it was annoying because the legs and arms would not turn right. The head would not sit right it and it was a mess. I had to cut its arms, legs, and head to make it stand on two legs. Then another hard part was remaking the head, arms, and legs and putting them on the body so it would work. i had to change the body parts for the lizard about four to five times just trying to position the different body parts. In order to complete the lizard i had to get help from my friend in the same major to make sure i was doing it right. They gave me pointers on this on the lizard, showed me how to change some of the things on the lizard, show me how to make the legs and arms for the lizard, they show make what will be a good way to create the head for the lizard and other things. My friends judge me severely but it was great but I made the lizard much better than it looked before. Overall it was a good and hard experience but I got it done well.
· For the spider challenge, I did not have to create the spider because there was one already in the program we were using.
My main role for this group was the one of the 3D artists. I was helping to make the characters so that they can be used in the game. The only asset I created for this game was the lizard character. I did not set a portfolio goal but it is always good to have new things that I created or helped create in my portfolio for potential job opportunities.
